★ Yesterday was Felix Felicis day.

I was lucky.

I was supposed to cut all of my classes (which means I only went to school twice this week) since I was sick, then luckily, due to the typhoon, they got canceled (except for my HR class). Consequently, the Programs core meeting also got canceled, which was a relief because I didn’t want to miss it.

Another stroke of luck, I got to ride in a brand new bus. :D

But like Felix Felicis, the effects will eventually wear out.

When I met up with Mayam and Janette to watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which you must have already figured out, we were only a few people away from the front of the line. Then it got chaotic. Turns out there were two lines (the second one was not yet there when we arrived) so we had to move to the back.

But I guess the movie was worth the wait. It was enjoyable, but as a true HP fan I was not completely satisfied. So here come the spoilers.

I repeat: SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT!

  • Dumbledore and Harry were not supposed to meet in the subway.
  • The Dursleys were missing from the whole movie.
  • Sirius’ will wasn’t discussed.
  • There was no Other Minister.
  • The Spinner’s End scene was supposed to be shown first (after the scene with the Minister).
  • I may have just forgotten, but do Death Eaters fly like that?
  • Harry should have only realized he liked Ginny when he and Ron saw her with Dean after Quidditch practice.
  • Bill and Fleur/Phlegm were not in the movie.
  • Harry, Ron and Hermione were supposed to be under the Invisibility Cloak when they followed Draco.
  • Draco was supposed to be alone in Borgin and Burke’s. No Narcissa, no Death Eaters.
  • Harry, Ron and Hermione were not supposed to see the Vanishing Cabinet.
  • Harry should have tipped Mr. Weasley before going to Hogwarts.
  • Harry was supposed to eavesdrop on Draco in a private compartment with the Slytherins after the Slug Club meeting. He was not supposed to use the black smoke thingy from Fred and George.
  • Tonks was supposed to be the one finding Harry under the cloak in the train, not Luna with her Spectrescope.
  • Snape was supposed to give Harry detention when he was late.
  • Everyone was supposed to consult with their Head of House regarding their timetables, not Harry alone.
  • Hermione wasn’t supposed to be stressed out in Potions class.
  • Slughorn was supposed to be the one to hand the books, and not let Harry and Ron choose.
  • There was no bezoar scene.
  • The story about the Gaunts was not shown.
  • The Sluggish Memory was not accurate.
  • Draco was not supposed to be at the Three Broomsticks.
  • The Burrow was not supposed to be set on fire!
  • Slughorn was not supposed to be stealing from the Greenhouse. But the whole Felix Felicis scene was just hilarious.
  • Harry was not supposed to drink the whole vial of Felix Felicis.
  • Aragog was supposed to be bigger.
  • Harry was supposed to give Felix to the Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville and Luna so they could stand guard while Dumbledore was away.
  • Harry was not supposed to find Snape and Dumbledore arguing. And they should have met at the Entrance Hall, not the Astronomy Tower.
  • Dumbledore could not apparate from Hogwarts. He and Harry should have gone to Hogsmeade and met up with Madam Rosmerta, who was supposed to be under the Imperius Curse.
  • I was looking forward to the scene where Dumbledore would be swimming, but it wasn’t in the movie.
  • I was also looking forward to the one where Dumbledore was riding a broom.
  • I think Dumbledore was supposed to be killed at the bottom of the Astronomy Tower? Or not. XD
  • Harry was supposed to be under the Invisibility Cloak and paralysed by Dumbledore when Draco arrives.
  • Snape was not supposed to be behind Harry and tell him to keep quiet.
  • There was no Hospital Wing scene.
  • There was no White Tomb scene.
  • Harry was supposed to get together with Ginny, then break up with her.
  • Percy was not in the movie, also Rufus Scrimgeour.
  • The entire movie was hinting that Snape was a good guy.
  • I wanted the “Dumbledore’s man through and through” scene.
  • No Kreacher, Dobby, Moaning Myrtle.

There are more, but this should already be enough.

Though there were no happy endings (Dumbledore died, horcrux was a fake, Hogwarts might close), it was made enjoyable by the comedy inserted by David Yates. I think it was awesome. Lol. I can’t wait for the DH movie, the book I’m re-reading now. More deaths to come.

2 star/s.

Oh no, please don't get discouraged. The movie's still good if you try to ignore the inaccuracies with the book. The plot was still able to work even with a lot of changes. There are still more reasons why you need to watch! XD
